My 4-year old loves Red Robin. I don't blame her: it's totally kid-friendly, has a pretty decent kids' menu, all kinds of stuff to look at, balloons, games, etc. It's actually pretty easy to eat clean here, the only pitfall being the temptation of all the delicious fried appetizers and non-clean foods with big delicious menu pictures. Why I like Red Robin: they have a good selection of menu items that can pretty easily be cleaned up, and they also have readily available nutrition menus to help me out. Usually my pick here is a lettuce-wrapped plain beef burger and a side salad with no croutons or cheese, topped with a bit of balsamic viniagrette. The whole meal is about 600 kcals if you use the dressing sparingly, so it's not a bargain calorie-wise but it is pretty clean and a good after-workout meal that refuels protein and some fat without dropping me down the rabbit hole of restaurant pitfalls that will suddenly derail my entire clean-eating day.

Worknight dinner 2/14
Haven't blogged my food in quite a while, but I'm getting my diet back on track and blogging helps make me feel accountable for all my food choices, so here we go: Main meal is a salad of organic rocket arugula, cluster tomato, a goat cheese medallion conveniently individually packaged that I found at Trader Joe's, and about 5 oz of top round steak that survived my brutal attempt at broiling. Topped off with Newman's Own Light Italian and voila:

The rest of my lunch bag contains one banana, two clementine cuties, one minneola tangelo, one protein bar, and two diet Rockstars. I don't usually pack so much fruit but I'm planning to go to the gym after work tonight and I anticipate needing the extra fruit sugar and especially the good carbs and potassium from the banana to help fuel my workout.
